Research Project
Integrated Land Use-Transport-Environment Planning & Modeling
Background & Purpose
Rapid urbanization is causing many urban problems including urban sprawl, population agglomeration, traffic congestion and carbon emission. We are facing a question of how to sustain the high quality of urban life in the trend of population growth and urban land expansion from the perspective of infrastructure policy. What kind of urban spatial structure, land use pattern and infrastructure policy have the highest economic efficiency but lowest environment emission? Taking Changzhou, China as a case study, I try to develop an integrated model of land use, transport and environment emissions for urban infrastructure planning and policy evaluation.
