1.  MARG(Marginal Areas Research Group:過疎地域研究会)の目的

 


1960年代以来今日まで、日本では、人口減少とそれにともなう地域の活力の減退になやむ農山村が各地にあります。また、これらの地域では、日本全体の高齢化の進行を先取りする形で、はやくから高齢化の波が押し寄せており、生活手段の確保や介護の問題さらには地域の維持保存など、地域社会が全体として取り組んでいくべき諸問題も多くみられます。中山間地域の活性化に関しては多くの実践書や経験談をまとめた書籍が出版されているものの、客観的なデータに基づいて活性化方策に科学的なアプローチを試みたものは極めて少ないように思われます。本研究会(過疎地域研究会:Marginal Areas Research Group)では、日南町と何らかの形でご縁を得ているものが多いことから、日南町をモデル地域として選択させて頂き、上記の諸問題の解決と地域の創造的発展にむけて研究を積み重ねていくこととなりました。
